Basketball Game Preview: Fort Ann Cardinals vs. Schroon Lake Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Fort Ann Cardinals take on the Schroon Lake Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Fort Ann earned a 55-48 win over Hartford Central.

Fort Ann's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kadyence Cutter led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Cutter has become a key player for Fort Ann: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least eight boards, but 3-5 otherwise. Marcus Stowhas was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds.

Fort Ann smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schroon Lake). They managed a 75-71 victory over Loudonville Christian on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Fort Ann's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Schroon Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
