Basketball Game Preview: Tug Valley Panthers vs. Webster County Highlanders

The Tug Valley Panthers will square off against the Webster County Highlanders at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tug Valley will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak.

Tug Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-26 win over Wahama.

Bailee Hall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 19 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Haven Deskins, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Tug Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 27 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Webster County didn't have too much breathing room in their match against River View on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

Tug Valley pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.6 points. As for Webster County, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Tug Valley came up short against Webster County in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 55-49. Thankfully for Tug Valley, Sydney Baird (who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
