Recap: Malvern Hornets vs. Catholic Central Crusaders
The Malvern Hornets lost against the Catholic Central Crusaders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Malvern was the victim of a rough 53-28 loss at the hands of Catholic Central. Malvern was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.
Catholic Central was led to victory by Anna Arai and Jackie O'karma. Arai dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while O'karma scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Arai has scored at least 25% of Catholic Central's points. Ella Maragos was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Malvern and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malvern will take on Newcomerstown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Catholic Central, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Oak Glen at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Oak Glen is ranked 415th in West Virginia, while Catholic Central is ranked 390th in Ohio).
