Baseball Recap: Carbondale Area Comes Up Short

Carbondale Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Dunmore Bucks, falling 22-2. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Bucks when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Xander Keill was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-1.

Carbondale Area's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dunmore, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Carbondale Area will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunmore, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against West Scranton on the 22nd.
