Basketball Recap: Cairo Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Cairo had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 55-26 victory over the Brookwood Warriors. For the Syrupmakers, this counts as revenge for the 45-31 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Mylin Parramore and Klaire Von Hellens certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Parramore posted eight points, while Von Hellens put up no points along with seven boards and six steals.

Brookwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Cairo will challenge Miller County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Brookwood, they will square off against North Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
