Football Game Preview: Wayne Valley Indians vs. Chatham Cougars

The Wayne Valley Indians will face off against the Chatham Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Wayne Valley took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Ridgewood with a sharp 42-20 victory. The Indians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Danny Ferrauilo had a dynamite game, throwing for 364 yards and four TDs while completing 76% of his passes, and also punching in one rushing score. His passing game has become a key predictor of Wayne Valley's success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Elizer Estevez helped Ferrauilo out on the ground, rushing for 126 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 40 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Chatham hadn't done well against Parsippany Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cougars breezed past the Vikings to the tune of 35-7. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three games in a row.

Wayne Valley ended up a good deal behind Chatham in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, losing 24-7.
