While Whiteville's win against Pender wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolfpack narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Patriots 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Wolfpack, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Whiteville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madilyn Patrick, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Whiteville's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Pender, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
