Basketball Recap: Crossroad Academy Scorpions vs. Bozeman Bucks
This season hasn't been kind to the Crossroad Academy Scorpions, who are still winless after their 12th game. They had to suffer through a rough 48-20 loss at the hands of Bozeman. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Crossroad Academy of the 46-33 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Bozeman found their leader in underclassman Lillian Leonard, who scored 20 points. It was the first time this season that Leonard scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Scott, who scored ten points.
Crossroad Academy dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Bozeman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroad Academy and the Timberwolves will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chiles presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Scorpions in Florida (the Timberwolves are ranked 285th, while the Scorpions are ranked 613th). As for Bozeman, they will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Bayou Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
