Basketball Recap: Lucy Beckham Takes a Loss

Lucy Beckham came up into this matchup off a tough 25-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Cane Bay Cobras by a score of 37-34 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bengals have suffered since February 2, 2024.

Cane Bay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amare Merrell, who posted five points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Merrell now owns an excellent 46.3% shooting accuracy. Jayden Waring was another key player, putting up five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Lucy Beckham and nudges their season record down to 9-10. As for Cane Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
