Volleyball Game Preview: Canfield Cardinals vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish

The Canfield Cardinals will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Canfield took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past East 3-0. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with East recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent-St. Mary posted their closest victory since September 6th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tallmadge, sneaking past 3-2.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Vincent-St. Mary got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 14-25, 25-17, 27-29, 15-13.

Canfield's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

Canfield took their win against St. Vincent-St. Mary in their previous matchup back in October of 2019 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
