Volleyball Game Preview: St. Mary's Academy Bobcats vs. Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles

The St. Mary's Academy Bobcats will challenge the Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

If Heritage Preparatory wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Mary's Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Emily Jimenez. The Bobcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rams on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 for which the team can thank Jimenez, who had 36 digs and seven assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

St. Mary's Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Heritage Preparatory into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 25-20, 22-25, 15-12.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Sherwood Christian Academy had just enough and edged out Stratford Academy 3-2. The victory was nothing new for Sherwood Christian Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.

While Sherwood Christian Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Stratford Academy scored at least 15 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 19-25, 17-15.

St. Mary's Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.
