New Caney has gone a perfect 10-0 against Caney Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

New Caney fell victim to Willis and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Wildkats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Caney Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against College Park, falling 15-2.

Caney Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Manuel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Cori White was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Caney Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for New Caney, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11-2.

New Caney was able to grind out a solid victory over Caney Creek when the teams last played back in March, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
