Recap: Conant Cougars vs. Central Rockets
The Conant Cougars waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 51-38 win over Central.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Jacob Johnson, who scored three points along with five rebounds and five steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Patrick Magan was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Conant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
Conant will head out on the road to challenge Hoffman Estates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will be playing at home against Crystal Lake South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal Lake South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge.
