Softball Game Preview: Dwyer Panthers vs. Seminole Ridge Hawks

Dwyer is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to square off against the Seminole Ridge Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Dwyer has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Dwyer lost 17-5 to Melbourne on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Fatima Masri made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kayla Sejnoha was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Seminole Ridge came up short against Park Vista on Thursday, falling 13-3. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seminole Ridge also got a good showing from Zarah Lee, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Seminole Ridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ary Nord, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kasia Lee also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Seminole Ridge now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dwyer, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Dwyer came up short against Seminole Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-2. Can Dwyer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
