Soccer Game Preview: Gonzaga Prep vs. Mt. Spokane

Gonzaga Prep is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will head out to take on the Mt. Spokane Wildcats at 4:00 p.m.

Gonzaga Prep fell victim to Bellarmine Prep and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 6-0 to the Lions. The Bullpups have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Mt. Spokane made sure to put some goals up on the board against Cheney on Friday. They put the hurt on the Blackhawks with a sharp 5-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Blackhawks: they've now won three in a row.

Gonzaga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Mt. Spokane, the victory got them back to even at 1-1-1.

Gonzaga Prep came up short against Mt. Spokane when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Gonzaga Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
