Basketball Game Preview: Kuna Kavemen vs. Owyhee Storm

Kuna is 0-5 against Owyhee since November of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Kuna Kavemen will be playing at home against the Owyhee Storm at 7:30 p.m.

Kuna is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Borah, falling 46-21. The game marked the Kavemen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Owyhee came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mavericks 53-32. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Mavericks are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Owyhee's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Kuna, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-10.

Kuna was dealt a bruising 62-32 defeat at the hands of Owyhee when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Owyhee's Josie Davis, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 17 points along with eight assists and seven steals.
