Softball Recap: Cascade Bruins vs. Lake Stevens Vikings
Cascade had lost nine straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-15 to make it ten. They came up short against the Lake Stevens Vikings, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in March.

Mia Walker was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Walker wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayda Churchill, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
As for Lake Stevens, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.
On Lake Stevens' side, Emerson Cummins was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Cummins has posted since back in March. Elliott Ross also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Cascade has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Arlington on the 29th. As for Lake Stevens, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-14 defeat against Jackson on the 29th.
