Soccer Game Preview: Laurel vs. Vancleave

The Laurel Golden Tornadoes will face off against the Vancleave Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Laurel fell victim to East Central and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Hornets. The Golden Tornadoes have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Vancleave kept a clean sheet against Wayne County on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the War Eagles. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by three goals or more this season.

Vancleave has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six games. As for Laurel, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Laurel might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Vancleave when the teams last played back in January. Can Laurel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
