Baseball Game Preview: Sleepy Hollow Horsemen vs. Yonkers Bulldogs

Sleepy Hollow has won three straight games at home, while Yonkers has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Horsemen will welcome the Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sleepy Hollow's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Gorton as they made off with a 13-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Horsemen in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Yonkers came out on top. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Gorton last Friday.

Davis Howell was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Howell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Gio Bello and Bryan Toribio did most of the damage at the plate: Bello got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Toribio went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Toribio's first of the season.

Sleepy Hollow now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Yonkers, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
