Sun Valley hadn't done well against Cuthbertson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Spartans walked away with a 5-2 win over the Cavaliers. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won four games in a row.

Keller Weaver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on ten hits. He has become a key player for Sun Valley: the team is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Braxton McGinniss was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tristan Duke, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sun Valley's record now sits at 14-11. As for Cuthbertson, they moved to 21-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Sun Valley has already played their next match, a 5-0 win against Weddington on the 1st. Cuthbertson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
