Soccer Game Preview: Selah vs. East Valley

The Selah Vikings will head out to take on the East Valley Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Selah, who comes in off a win.

Selah's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Prosser 4-0. The result was nothing new for Selah, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

Despite a strong season so far, East Valley has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Toppenish. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as East Valley came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Toppenish are ranked 85th).

The win made it two in a row for Selah and bumps their season record up to 7-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two matches. As for East Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Selah couldn't quite get it done against East Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
