Volleyball Recap: Torres Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Torres had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Sierra Chieftains, falling 3-0. The Toros were not able to make up for their loss to the Chieftains from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

J'Lynn Mitchell paced Torres' offense, picking up ten kills. Mitchell got some help from Tarin Anderson and her 30 assists. Noelia Calvillo controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0).

Sierra was led to victory by Jolee Harshman and Nicole Gibson. Harshman had 17 digs and one assist, while Gibson had ten digs and two aces. Those ten digs gave Gibson a new career-high.

Torres wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Novato on the 13th. As for Sierra, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Chowchilla on the 12th.
