Mathews and Harding are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2020, but not for long. The Mustangs will take on the Skippers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Harding took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mathews, who comes in off a win.

Mathews had lost four straight headed into Thursday's matchup, but MACI DARLINGTON didn't let it get to five. The Mustangs came out on top against Pymatuning Valley by a score of 3-1 on Thursday with plenty of help from DARLINGTON, who had 30 digs and seven aces. She also put up a kill, which was her first of the season.

Mathews had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Cardinal, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-16, 25-15.

Mathews' victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-12.

Mathews beat Harding 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
