Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Vista Trojans vs. Hobbs Eagles

The Mesa Vista Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the Hobbs Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Mesa Vista is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Pecos. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Panthers 53-51. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Hobbs took on Centennial on Tuesday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over the Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since February 7th.
