Volleyball Recap: Normandy Invaders vs. Berea-Midpark Titans
Normandy lost against Berea-Midpark back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Invaders fell just short of the Titans by a score of 3-2. While the Invaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 25-16 in the first set.
Normandy wouldn't go down easily and took Berea-Midpark into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 16-14.
Sophia Serrano was her usual excellent self, getting ten digs and two aces for Berea-Midpark. Serrano is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aiza Beringuel, who had 12 kills and eight digs.
Normandy's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Berea-Midpark, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.
Looking ahead, Normandy will face off against Valley Forge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berea-Midpark, they will welcome Elyria at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
