Basketball Recap: El Campo Comes Up Short

El Campo suffered their biggest defeat since November 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Brazosport Exporters 74-46. The Ricebirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Exporters earlier this season, when they won 73-66.

It was another big night for Deja El-Amin, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine steals for Brazosport. El-Amin's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sanii Player, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for El Campo and nudges their season record down to 15-14. As for Brazosport, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

El Campo will square off against Sweeny at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. El Campo is facing Sweeny at the right time seeing as Sweeny is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brazosport, they will head out on the road to face off against La Marque at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brazosport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.
