Football Recap: Montgomery Central Comes Up Short

Montgomery Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 23-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clarksville Academy Cougars. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

When it comes to explaining why Montgomery Central lost, don't look at Malosi Laban. Despite the final result, he rushed for 91 yards and a pair of TDs. Wesley Mobley also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.

Montgomery Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Clarksville Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Montgomery Central will take on Battle Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Clarksville Academy, they will face off against Ezell-Harding Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
