Basketball Recap: Baker Takes a Loss

Baker won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate, falling 80-15. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-10.

Angel Aguayo was Baker's leading scorer, having posted six points. Alex Gomez held things down on the boards with three rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon found their leader in freshman M.J. Tucker, who posted 24 points. Taeao Mamea was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Baker's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Baker will welcome Sandy Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they will take on Mohave Accelerated in a tournament on Thursday. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.
