Orland is a perfect 8-0 against Las Plumas since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will welcome the Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m.
Orland came into this matchup off a tough 21-point defeat back in September. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Gridley by a score of 29-26 on Friday. Despite 158 more yards than the Bulldogs, the Trojans couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Orland got top-tier performance from Luke Schager, who rushed for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 91 yards and one TD. Schager's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 149 rushing yards.
Even if they lost, Orland's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Dominic Gonzalez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up a sack all by himself.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Las Plumas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Live Oak by a score of 42-29 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.
Las Plumas found their leader in sophomore Branden Robinson, who rushed for 50 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 166 yards and one TD on only 12 passes.
Las Plumas' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Orland, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Orland has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 311.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Las Plumas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 196.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Orland barely slipped by Las Plumas in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 7-6. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Thunderbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
