Basketball Recap: Sale Creek Comes Up Short

After flying high against Berean Academy last Friday, Sale Creek came back down to earth. The Sale Creek Panthers were dealt a 67-31 defeat at the hands of the Van Buren County Eagles on Monday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-44 back in December of 2024.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trinity Smith, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and four steals. Gracie Arnold was another key player, putting up seven points.

Sale Creek's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Van Buren County, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Sale Creek has already played their next game, a 60-27 win against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts on the 4th. Van Buren County has also already played their next match (against Grundy County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
