Softball Recap: Wilson Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wilson entered their tilt with Lower Richland on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Diamond Hornets get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Zoey Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She is also on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Sakura Jordan was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Martina Taylor was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1.

Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wilson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lower Richland, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Wilson will be playing in front of their home fans against Darlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lower Richland, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
