Baseball Game Preview: Davie War Eagles vs. Glenn Bobcats

For the second straight game, Davie will face off against Glenn. The War Eagles will welcome the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Davie's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.

Davie hadn't beaten Glenn on the road since April 26, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The War Eagles put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the War Eagles have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Parker Davis tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for Davie: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Davie let Coston Leo Colamarino and Coy James run wild. Colamarino went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while James went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. James is becoming a predictor of Davie's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 4-2 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ty Sain, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Davie's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Glenn, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
