Basketball Recap: West Potomac Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with South County

On Thursday, West Potomac faced South County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The West Potomac Wolverines fell just short of the South County Stallions by a score of 51-49. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, with their most recent defeat being a 51-47 loss two weeks ago.

West Potomac's loss came despite strong showings from Olivia Jones and Abby Beddis. Jones went 8-for-15 to rack up 20 points and three steals, while Beddis went 5-for-10 on her way to 13 points.

West Potomac's defeat dropped their record down to 21-3. As for South County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

West Potomac will face off against Justice at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. West Potomac is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season. As for South County, they have already played their next contest, a 49-21 victory against Robinson on the 21st.
