Baseball Recap: Woodside Find Success

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Woodside and Phoebus had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Woodside walked away with a 13-10 win over Phoebus on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Phantoms: they've now won three in a row.

Cameron Moody was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Moody was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Woodside got a big performance out of Jamarey Hardin, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5. Shaquan Patrick was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win got Woodside back to even at 2-2. As for Phoebus, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Woodside will head out to take on Bethel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodside is facing Bethel at the right time seeing as Bethel is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Phoebus, they will welcome Norcom at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
