While Carson's victory against East Rowan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 2-1 on Thursday. Julio Moctezuma-Diche had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Carson got from the refs.

Carlos Moctezuma and Carson Kirk scored both of Carson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

The win got Carson back to even at 9-9. As for East Rowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-1 record this season.

Carson will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Northwest Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. As for East Rowan, they will head out to square off against Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
