Recap: Giltner Hornets vs. Deshler Dragons
The Giltner Hornets lost against the Deshler Dragons back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Giltner fell just short of Deshler by a score of 41-39. That's two games in a row now that Giltner has lost by exactly two points.
Deshler found their leader in underclassman Carson Sieber, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Brent Buescher was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Giltner has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Deshler, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Giltner will face off against Silver Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Giltner has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. Deshler's road trip will continue as they head out to face Red Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Red Cloud focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
