Nottoway has gone 9-1 against Cumberland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will welcome the Dukes at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Nottoway is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Amelia County just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Randolph-Henry hit Cumberland with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dukes fell 10-5 to the Statesmen. The loss continues a trend for the Dukes in their meetings with the Statesmen: they've now lost nine in a row.

A. Mitchell was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base. E. Karst also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Nottoway, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Nottoway came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Dukes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
