Softball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport's last matchup with Walnut Ridge could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. The Newport Greyhounds lost 17-0 to the Walnut Ridge Bobcats. The Greyhounds have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Walnut Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Newport will venture away from home to face off against Harrisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walnut Ridge, they will welcome Hoxie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
