Baseball Recap: Staley Victorious

Staley's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the St. Elizabeth Hornets. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the game before.

Jacob Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Jackson Fatheree looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Brody Irlbeck was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Alexander Paul was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Staley's record is now 13-1. As for St. Elizabeth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Staley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 victory against Hickman on the 18th. St. Elizabeth has also already played their next contest (against Truman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
