Soccer Game Preview: Timberlake vs. Post Falls

The Timberlake Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Post Falls Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timberlake will be strutting in after a victory while Post Falls will be coming in after a loss.

Timberlake took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Grangeville. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Timberlake's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Post Falls was not quite Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Post Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy are ranked 16th).

The victory snapped Timberlake's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 3-8 record. As for Post Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Timberlake might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Post Falls in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
