Volleyball Recap: Pius X Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pius X waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Standing Bear Grizzlies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pius X to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kami Wemhoff, who had nine digs and four assists. That's the most assists Wemhoff has posted over her last ten contests. Vayda Hagedorn also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Standing Bear's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Pedersen, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Standing Bear, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Pius X has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Lincoln North Star on the 3rd. As for Standing Bear, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Lincoln East on the 4th.
