Basketball Recap: Winnfield Comes Up Short

Winnfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Tioga Indians, falling 71-39. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 58-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2016.

Winnfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Tioga, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winnfield will take on Natchitoches Central in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tioga, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rayne at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
