Softball Recap: Egyptian Pharaohs vs. Agape Christian Knights
Egyptian had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-13 to make it seven. They lost 17-3 to the Agape Christian Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in March.
As for Agape Christian, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Agape Christian's part, Isabella Knox was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Knox was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March.
In other batting news, Alaina Reynolds was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Emersyn Clark was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Egyptian will be playing in front of their home fans against Elverado at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Agape Christian has already played their next matchup (against Shawnee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
