Basketball Recap: Leland Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leland). They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over the South Delta Bulldogs on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cubs considering their 26-point performance the game before.

South Delta's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Takoreyon Bee, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Amarion Sanders, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points. Those 12 boards gave Bee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacarius Myles, who posted seven points along with eight boards and four blocks.

Leland's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10. As for South Delta, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Leland will be playing in front of their home fans against Simmons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Delta, they will venture away from home to challenge Shaw at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shaw will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South Delta surely won't give up without a fight.
