Football Recap: Connersville Spartans vs. Franklin County Wildcats
After flying high against Richmond last Friday, Connersville came back down to earth. The Spartans had to suffer through a 62-28 loss at the hands of the Franklin County Wildcats. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Wyatt Bowling had a dynamite game For Franklin County., rushing for 172 yards and three scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 185 yards and four TDs while completing 92.9% of his passes. Their leading receiver Carter Dozier was Bowling's top target yet again, picking up 102 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 33 yards.
Connersville dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Franklin County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Connersville will square off against Greensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin County, they will take on Rushville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
