Softball Recap: Hudson Falls Starts Season with Victory Against Schuylerville

Hudson Falls gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Schuylerville Horses by a score of 12-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hudson Falls got a massive performance out of Mya Strong, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Strong a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerusha Fairbanks, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Schuylerville's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Hudson Falls will take on South Glens Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Schuylerville, they are taking a road trip to take on Shaker at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
