Preview: Benjamin Mustangs vs. Motley County Matadors
The Benjamin Mustangs will take on the Motley County Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benjamin will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Benjamin put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crowell 56-8 on the road.
Grayson Rigdon got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 76 receiving yards. Rigdon has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Keegan Hayes, who threw for 84 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Motley County put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Aspermont, posting a 40-8 victory on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Motley County.
Benjamin pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Motley County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Benjamin against Motley County in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 56-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Benjamin since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
