Basketball Recap: Goodwin Tech Comes Up Short

Goodwin Tech was the 62-43 winner over Platt RVT when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Goodwin Tech Gladiators fell to the Platt RVT Panthers 59-55. The Gladiators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Goodwin Tech still got an impressive performance from Nazir Russell, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 26 points and four steals. Russell is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amare Robinson, who posted ten points.

Even though they lost, Goodwin Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Goodwin Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Platt RVT, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Goodwin Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 92-72 victory against Wolcott RVT on the 15th. As for Platt RVT, they will take on Wright Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
