Basketball Recap: Wisdom Comes Up Short

Wisdom lost against Madawaska on January 8th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wisdom Pioneers came up short against the Madawaska Owls, falling 58-33. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Owls are ranked 16th).

Wisdom's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Madawaska, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Wisdom will take on Southern Aroostook at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southern Aroostook's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Madawaska, they and Hodgdon will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played.
