Baseball Game Preview: Pike Central Chargers vs. Vincennes Lincoln Alices

Pike Central hasn't had much luck against Vincennes Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chargers will challenge the Alices at 5:15 p.m. Pike Central has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

JJ Belmore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Vincennes Lincoln's offense. They came up short against Jasper on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Alices, who until this matchup were averaging 3.05 runs allowed.

Pike Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

Pike Central couldn't quite get it done against Vincennes Lincoln when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 3-0. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
